The highly anticipated event is scheduled for June 7, 2026, at Central Primary School in Eldoret, and is expected to bring together residents, leaders, sponsors, partners, and well-wishers from across the North Rift region.
Over the past five years, Team Strong has built a strong grassroots reputation by using social media platforms to mobilize resources for vulnerable families and individuals in need of urgent medical attention. According to Uria, the initiative has already helped more than 100 people access critical healthcare support, earning admiration from many within the community.
Speaking ahead of the event, Uria said the official launch will not only celebrate the journey Team Strong has taken so far but will also mark a major milestone in disability empowerment.
“We have built valuable networks and secured 100 assistive devices, including wheelchairs, crutches, white canes, walking sticks, walking frames, and two artificial limbs,” he said.

The June event is expected to see the distribution of the assistive devices to persons living with disabilities, a move likely to significantly improve mobility and daily living for many beneficiaries.
Uria, who recently returned from a trip linked to his support for English football club Chelsea F.C., said his focus is now fully on ensuring the success of the Team Strong opening ceremony and empowerment drive.
The event will also recognize and celebrate the more than 100 individuals who have benefited from Team Strong’s medical interventions over the years.
Residents from Eldoret and neighboring counties have been invited to attend the event, which organizers say will be both a celebration of compassion and a call for greater community support for vulnerable groups.
As preparations intensify ahead of the June gathering, Team Strong appears poised to become one of the region’s most visible community-based empowerment movements.
