An online poll that was organized by Australian based Kenyan, Alfred Koech through his Facebook page that enjoys a massive following turned out quite competitive with a total of 19,000 votes being cast by the end of the two day poll.
With governor Sang out of the picture, a host of new candidates are expected to emerge as the polls get nearer.

The poll had asked Nandi residents whom they would vote for ahead of the 2027 polls in which governor Sang will be hanging his boots after fulfilling the two term constitutional requirement. Four candidates were being polled including Senator Samson Cherargei, MP Julius Melly, Woman Rep, Cynthia Muge and politician Allan Kosgey who also doubles up as the KIPI chair, a position he was recently appointed to.
In the poll, Allan Kosgey emerged the winner garnering 50% of the total votes cast followed by current Woman Rep Cynthia Muge with 38%. Senator Samson Cherargei emerged a distant third while the Mp Tinderet Julius Melly came last.

The polls garnered an uncharacteristic huge turnout and was a source of heated debates in various platforms, an indicator of how the Nandi politics will be a high stakes endeavour come 2027 with each candidate leaving nothing to chance.

What the polls mean
A look at the polls indicate that the rigorous ground works Allan has been doing are baring fruits for his candidacy. Allan has been traversing various parts of Nandi, meeting with various representatives and residents all to boost his chances of ascending to the County's top seat.
Cynthia Muge also put up a spirited fight an indication that she is putting her house in order ahead of the polls.
Maskani Poll
A similar poll conducted by Maskani, for the month of February also placed Allan Kosgey on the lead with over 50% while Cynthia Muge came in Second with 40%
