There was drama as Nandi residents demanded to know why Governor Sang was inspecting a commissioned road that seemed poorly done.
Through a post he made on his Facebook page, the Governor had posted that he was inspecting the Kapnes-Kapkilel road in Kapsabet Ward.
Immediately the Governor posted the update, residents were up in arms asking why the Governor was inspecting substandard roads.

Some were however quick to defend the governor.
Willy Kipkosgei Rotich: Transformation is real in the county government of Nandi.
Willy Mutai: You may not know which condition that road was in. Maybe it is better now.
Sang has in the past two days been inspecting and launching various projects within the county.
The fist term Governor has focused mainly on opening up of new roads within the county. However, the quality of the said roads have been put to question by various stakeholders.
Mr. Sang, a youthful Governor rose to the seat after successfully flooring former governor Dr. Cleophas Lagat in a contest that pit youthful voters against the old in 2017.

Sang, then a Senator had managed to garner a majority support from youthful voters who believed in his manifesto.
Recently, the Governor has been facing stiff opposition from local leaders led by the area Senator Samson Cherargei. The leaders have claimed that the governor is incompetent and should be kicked out of office come 2022.
The County Assembly speaker Joshua Kiptoo has also initiated an onslaught against the governor. He has claimed that though Sang has received support from the Assembly, he has failed in delivering on his mandate.
POLITICAL FIREWORKS
With 2022 around the corner, it is expected that the political temperatures will be on a steady rise. Already, the political heat has been felt, with leaders looking to succeed Sang making inroads.

Top on the list is Nairobi based Lawyer Allan Kosgey who has in the recent past scaled up his political activities. Kosgey 46, who runs a successful legal practice in the city has been involved in local activities through harambees and other grassroot projects.
It is still unclear whether Cherargei will make an attempt to clinch the gubernatorial seat. If he does so, he will further be joining the already crowded race to unseat Sang.
Joshua Kiptoo, the Assembly Speaker is also said to be targeting the top county seat. In an apparent effort to endear himself to the electorate, the Speaker has chosen a combative approach through heightened scrutiny of the Governor's office.
The Speaker has been vocal on the ills perpetrated by the Executive pointing to a possibility that he might be eyeing Sang's seat.
Others in the race include Kiplimo Rugut, Antipas Tirop and possibly Alfred Keter.
