Dr. Irungu Kang'ata; Senate Majority whip to graduate with a PhD in Law

Things are looking up for the Jubilee Senate Majority whip, Irungu Kang'ata as he is set to graduate with a PhD in Law from the University of Nairobi.

According to the Senator, this has been a great achievement for him as at one time in his undergraduate years he was expelled from the same university after he led students in a riot.

In an interview with the Daily Nation, Dr. Kang'ata told a story of a man who had a tough beginning while pursuing his first degree.

"It is one of those unbelievable stories, at some point, I was an outcast in every University in the country and I am now set to graduate with a PhD." He said.

With the Law PhD, the senator joins an elitist club comprised of notable figures in the legal field. Some of them include; Rtd Supreme court Judge Prof. Jackton Ojwang, Governor Kivutha Kibwana, former DcJ Nancy Baraza and the former Attorney General Prof. Githu Muigai.

Kang'atas political stature has been on a steady rise ever since he was appointed into the powerful house leadership committee.

Though his current undertakings at the senate have been somewhat tough, the senator has not given up on his fight. Currently, he has been charged with delivering a formula to be adopted by the senate on revenue sharing a task that has been quite heavy.
