A dramatic police chase in Nandi South ended with the recovery of a vehicle and close to 200 kilograms of cannabis sativa.

The incident unfolded after officers from Kaptumo Police Station intercepted a suspicious car speeding towards Kobujoi. Police say they launched the chase after a local resident reported a fast moving vehicle with registration number KCJ 229F moving in a suspicious manner along the Kaptumo Kobujoi road.
Officers responded immediately and pursued the car until it lost control and rolled near the gate of Kaptumo Boys.
Two occupants reportedly abandoned the damaged vehicle and escaped in an unmarked Toyota Probox that sped off towards Kobujoi.
At the scene, officers recovered two briefcases containing an estimated 200 kilograms of suspected cannabis.
The seized drugs and the vehicle were taken to Kaptumo Police Station as investigations continue.
Police say the search for the two suspects is still ongoing.
