Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Jonathan Bii has come out to state how he was named Koti Moja. Mr. Bii was speaking during a show hosted by Australian based Kenyan Alfred Koech-Sergent.
According to Bii, some of his opponents had come up with the name due to the fact that he wore his one jacket. "Koti moja was meant to ridicule me as someone who doesn't have enough resources to run a successful campaign." he said.
"I am a hustler, I can't run away from that fact. I have fully embraced the Koti moja slogan as my brand" he added.

ABOUT JONATHAN BII
Mr. Bii was born and raised in Uasin Gishu County, Soy Subcounty. He did information science (diploma) at Sigalagala College, Kakamega county. He started working at the Moi University where he also got his degree.
He currently holds a masters degree in project planning and is pursuing a PHD in the same line of study.
HIS POLITICAL JOURNEY
Just like most of his peers in the political sphere, Mr. Bii started out as a strong KANU supporter. He has however decamped from KANU and opted to support Deputy President, Dr. William Ruto in his quest to run for the top seat in 2022.

Mr. Bii says he has been involved in various political initiatives at the grassroots including spearheading of recruitment drives into the new political outfit UDA.
"I should be judged fairly by Uasin Gishu residents. When people decamped from KANU to ODM, they were elected for the various seats they contested for. They were not judged harshly. The people who still call me a KANU mole or sympathizer are afraid of the inroads I have made in the county. UDA is our new political outfit and we will all support and grow it." he said.
"I am running for the Uasin Gishu governor seat to reach out to the people through investments, employment, development and connecting with our people in the diaspora who form the 31st ward in our county." Said Bii.

He stated that if elected, his government would embrace the bottom up approach which is being fronted by William Ruto, through giving money to the small businesses to widen the tax bracket, and the cashflow.
Value addition to maize, through processing and packaging would also be given a priority by his government.
ON JOBS
Mr. Bii noted that there was an acute shortage of jobs in the country. "There are no jobs in the country, what we will do is to ensure that our youth are enrolled in technical courses, where they can acquire skills that could easily get them self employed." He stated.
"If I get employed, I would ensure that enough resources are allocated to our youth for training to impart skills that would enable them beat the unemployment menace." He added.
SPORTS AND TALENT
Mr. Bii noted that Uasin Gishu and its neighbors; Nandi and Elgeiyo Marakwet produces some of the greatest world beaters. He stated that part of his work would be to ensure that there is an Olympic standard stadium that can be used by these athletes in their trainings.
EDUCATION
Mr. Bii stated that he would enhance the bursary kitty to ensure that a larger percentage of deserving cases are addressed. He stated that through local administration, they would be able to pinpoint the deserving students to get the bursary awards.
PARTING SHOT
He called on Uasin Gishu residents to embrace the hustler party UDA and called on them to vote for him as the next governor Uasin Gishu County after a successful two term stint by the current governor Jackson Mandago.
