Statehouse Kenya has come out to make a clarification on why cabinet secretaries were sent on leave.

According to a communique from the head of Public Service, Joseph Kinyua, the Cabinet was sent on leave as a way to allow them to have a recess just like is the case in every other arm of government.

This they say was neccesitated by the busy schedules of the CSs and the heavy demands by their jobs.

The recess will commence on Monday 17th August 2020 to Friday 28th of the same month.

Cabinet secretaries have not been having the annual leave privilege enjoyed by other civil servants.

Speculations

A section of the media had speculated that there were changes set to be effected by the head of state which led to the unprecedented leave.

However, it is now clear that the leave was just an annual one as is enjoyed by other civil servants.
