Nandi residents will have to wait a bit longer for medicine supplies from KEMSA. This is according to the health Executive Committee member Ruth Koech.

In a correspondence sent to the county assembly clerk, the CEC stated that despite the fact that they had placed an order amounting to Ksh. 80,000,000/=, the medical supply agency could not do so at the moment as it was conducting its annual stock taking as mandated by law.

Cases of drugs missing in hospitals have been reported before, despite the effort that has been put up by the government.

Madam Ruth Koech stated however that the medicine will be received from KEMSA as from 9th July 2019 and that the current stock will be enough to last the county till September of this year.

Health CEC has been lauded for her steadfast effort in ensuring that service delivery in county hospitals have been improved.

Previously,  the county administration was accused of laxity and deteriorating state of the health sector in Nandi.
