A recent opinion poll conducted by Nandi News clearly indicates that the CAS nominee for State Law, Allan Kosgey is the preferred candidate to replace governor Stephen Sang whose term is coming to an end in 2027.
The poll was conducted between 5th March to 22nd March 2024. The opinion survey shows that the Tindiret MP & Chairperson for Education committee at the National assembly Hon Julius Melly whose candidature was hinted by The Deputy President came second at 22%.
The poll places second-term Senator Samson Cherargei at the third place with little 10%.
Women Representative, Cynthia Muge & Deputy Governor Dr Yulita Chebotip were backed by 08% and 04% respectively. The race looks technical and interesting with entry of two women contestants.
It further indicates that 17% of Nandi residents remain undecided and hoping the Weak candidates will merge with the top contestants.
A mere 02% are hoping for new candidates to throw their hats into the ring.
Governor Stephen Sang's term is coming to an end after completion of his two constitutional terms in 2027 and already, there has been a lot of political activity from those seeking to replace him.
The findings of these polls could be subject to changes owing to the fact that it is still early and some of these candidates listed haven't yet shown interest in running for governor.
