Much has been said about the 47 year old successful lawyer Allan Kosgey who is running for governor Nandi County. Kosgey runs a successful law practice in Nairobi.
His rise through the political sphere in Nandi has been steady. Initially, Kosgey vied for the member of parliament seat in Kesses where he lost to billionaire businessman Mishra Kiprop.
In 2018, he quickly shifted his political base back to Nandi where he hails from. He started slowly by building a strong grassroots presence especially in his home constituency Nandi Hills. With his new movements, many thought that he was vying for the member of parliament, Nandi Hills constituency which is currently being held by legislator Alfred Keter.

Kosgey has quickly curved out his niche as a philanthropic politician in Nandi. Every weekend, he is involved in one or several charitable events including harambees to see students complete their education, some for those seeking further medical treatment both locally and abroad.
Over the past weekend, Allan Kosgey donated a brand new Van to the Kobujoi Small Home which is an integrated community hosting and offering educational support to hundreds of children living with disability. The van is expected to be used in easing the movement of the kids.
According to an insider who is aware of the happenings, the school approached the lawyer asking for the vehicle. Allan then took it upon him to ensure that their request is fulfilled.

"They approached him asking for a van to be used in transporting the children. He made a promise to deliver it to them, and he did so promptly." said the source.
In December 2020, Allan also donated a car to be used by the St. Philips Ndubeneti parish. The vehicle he said would be used by the church to spread its outreach gospel in Nandi and Uasin Gishu Counties.
In 2019, Allan donated a van to Tach Asis special school to help in ferrying the kids.
Kosgey has all this while been consistent in his philanthropy. He has traversed the county and stood with people whenever called to.
THE RUTO FACTOR
It is believed that Allan get's his political inspiration from Ruto. The DP has fashioned himself as a giver with no limits. His hand has been felt throughout the country, that his political competitors have openly lamented.
Like Ruto, Allan has also been felt at the grassroots. From hosting delegations at his Nandi Hills home, to contributing towards construction of churches, harambees in aid of school and medical bills, he has warmed the hearts of the residents.
POLITICAL AMBITION
Allan is expected to battle it out for the county's top seat with governor Stephen Sang, who also enjoys a close working relation with the deputy president. Sang who is also a lawyer rose into the political sphere back in 2013 when he successfully vied for the county's senate seat.
Allan Kosgey comes from a political family with deep pockets. Being the son to former Industrialization minister Dr. Henry Kosgey, must have had a positive impact on him, which explains why he opted to join politics.
As we get closer to the 2022 general elections, political temperatures are steadily rising. Those with political aspirations are seen traversing and interacting with the electorate with the hope of winning.
