With less than a year to the 2022 general elections, most aspirants have already hit the ground running trying to woo voters.
Nandi hasn't been left behind. Numerous candidates have shown interest in various seats. However, the gubernatorial race is quickly becoming the most interesting to watch and follow as it is attracting some big wigs in the political and business world.
The incumbent Stephen Sang, rose to the seat riding on the youth wave that was sweeping across the county at the time. With him was the hope of thousands of youthful voters who were yearning for the much needed change.
Years in office, quite a number of people feel that Sang has failed to live up to the expectations of the youth who put him in power. Claims of mismanagement, corruption, favoritism and incompetence have rocked his administration clouding the once vibrant governor.
The County Assembly headed by Speaker Joshua Kiptoo has been on the forefront in castigating Sang's administration. In some instances, the Assembly has called on Sang to fire some of his Executive committee members for gross violation and incompetence.

Sang's handlers have however come out to defend the governor stating that he has performed according to the expectations of the electorate. They have dismissed attacks on Sang as political.
ALLAN KOSGEY
Kosgey, a 46 year old lawyer, runs a successful practice in Nairobi. He has made major political entry into the Nandi Political scene. A son to the former industrialization minister Henry Kosgey, he has in the recent past toured Nandi for various projects and occasions that have endeared him to the electorate.
Allan has made a name in a short time. Prior to showing interest in the Nandi political atmosphere, he had unsuccessfully vied for the member of parliament seat Kesses constituency where he lost to Hon. Mishra.
He shifted his political base back to Nandi in 2018 and it is surprising how for a short while, he has been able to make inroads and become a notable politician eyeing Sang's seat.
According to insiders at Allan Kosgey's team, the lawyer is seeking to unseat the incumbent through a series of activities. The lawyer is expected to increase his grassroots presence in the coming weeks, set up formidable teams made up of young energetic men and women drawn from across the county.
Through the networks he has created over time, Allan is expected to set up a team that would reach every village, to drum up support for his bid.
