Uganda Presidential Candidate Robert Kyagulanyi, aka, Bobi wine says he will not accept election results if the polls are not free and fair.

The 38 year old is bidding to unseat Uganda's president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who has been in power for the last 35 years on a National Unity Platform (NUP) party.

"The party I lead owes respect to the outcome if elections are conducted independently, freely, fairly and tallied with nothing but absolute transparency,” he told NTV Uganda on Wednesday.

Ugandans started casting their votes on Thursday morning amid Social media ban, confirmed in a letter seen by Reuters to internet service providers dated Jan. 12, Uganda's communications regulator ordering them to block all social media platforms and messaging apps until further notice.

Bobi wine's party has also established an independent tallying centre to ensure rigging does not take place.
