Nandi Governor Stephen Sang is expected to appear before the Public Accounts Committee and the Investment Committee of the senate on Monday 31st.
Through the County Secretary Dr. Francis Sang, the government had requested that the sitting be postponed to a further date to allow consultations and adequate preparations.
In a letter dated 18th August by Dr. Sang, titled "Scheduled appearance before Senate PIC/PAC on auditor general's report consideration," he had made a request that the appearance be moved to a later date.
The letter stated that the county was willing and ready to cooperate with the committee in all areas.
However, through a reply by the Senate in a letter dated 27th August, the request by the county was declined stating that they had to be present at the sitting scheduled for 31st August, which is this coming Monday.
The Senate stated that it had already approved and published a schedule of appearances by counties and it wouldn't be possible to alter the dates.
