The Nandi County Assembly has been closed down for fumigation and mass testing of all members and staff after Tinderet ward MCA Hon. Kipkurui Chepkwony tested positive for Covid-19
According to a statement by the county assembly speaker Joshua Kiptoo, the assembly which has been on recess from 16th July, 2020 was scheduled to resume sittings on Wednesday, 19th August, 2020 but owing to these recent developments, the resumption has been moved further to a day that will be communicated after the fumigation and mass testing exercise scheduled for Tuesday, 25th August, 2020.
The speaker has further advised the Honourable members and staff to continue observing the Ministry of Health guidelines on prevention of the spread of Covid-19 by always wearing a mask, maintaining social distance and regular hand washing and sanitization to curb the spread of the virus.
