Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has insisted that he won't be supporting William Ruto's 2022 bid.
According to Mr. Kalonzo, he is set to run for the 2022 presidency and he is ready to battle it out with William Ruto.
He said that he only ran for the presidency in 2007 and that his time was now ready. He said that this time round, he was not going to let anyone negotiate on his behalf.
"I will not be sold like a cow in a market. Brace yourselves now, be ready because I am tired of being disrespected." He said.
Mr. Musyoka has recently fell out with former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama, who shifted his allegiance to William Ruto.
Mr. Kalonzo alluded to the fact that it was Muthama who forced him to work with NASA in 2013 and 2017 and that he didn't want to take any more of that.
The fallout with the former senator forced the party to expel one of the party financiers.
Kalonzo Musyoka is currently working with the President after his party endorsed the merger.
With growing rebellion coming from his backyard, Mr. Kalonzo's grip in the larger Ukambani region is quickly being eroded.
Governor's from the region led by Ngilu, Kibwana and Mutua have continually been seen as possible threats for the long time politician.
In what has been seen as an outright attack on Mr. Kalonzo, Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana has questioned Mr. Kalonzo's stance on national matters.
In a Facebook post, Prof. Kibwana questioned on why Kalonzo allowed other's to think on his behalf.
"SATIRICAL!!
Kalonzo now blames Muthama for auctioning him to Raila in 2013 and 2017. How can a person who aspires to be a president not have a mind of his own? One must face his own failures. His regional senators have defied him over revenue sharing. Time's up!" Prof Kibwana posted.
This bold attack on the former vice president is a clear indication of his dwindling political fortunes in the region.
