For years, they demanded the county government of Nandi build them a bridge at the Kipsiwo crossing point. They claim that initially, the county government destroyed the dangerous bridge that existed with the intent of building a new one.
However, years down the line, this hasn't been forthcoming. They decided to pull resources together and build their own bridge as locals.

They organized a fundraiser to pull resources for this cause. According to the residents, the bridge is a critical infrastructure in the area as it connects the ward to the rest of Nandi County, especially for people who are seeking medical help or any other government services.
The residents decried the neglect by governor Stephen Sang's administration citing stalled projects.
