The vigil was led by Nandi Deputy Governor Dr. Yulita Chebotip Cheruiyot alongside members of the clergy, including His Lordship Paul Korir, Bishop of the ACK Diocese of Kapsabet, and Moses Serem, Bishop of the AIC Nandi Area Church Council. The leaders offered prayers for strength, healing and peace, urging residents to remain united as the county mourns one of its own.
Clergy members called for calm and faith, encouraging the bereaved families to lean on God during the painful period. Political leaders present described Ngeno’s death as a great loss not only to his constituency but to the larger Kalenjin political landscape.
As the rain continued to fall, mourners stood firm, their candles flickering in the wind, a moving display of love and loyalty to a leader many say died at the peak of his service.
Investigations into the helicopter crash are ongoing as the nation awaits further details surrounding the tragic incident.
May Almighty God grant eternal rest to the souls of the departed and comfort to their families and loved ones.
