CS Jacob Sisey, OGW has emerged as the top candidate for the position of Director General of the National Transport and Safety Authority following interviews conducted between January 13 and January 15.

A total of 15 candidates appeared before the NTSA board Chaired by Hon. Khatib Mwashetani which is seeking to fill the top position at the transport regulator. According to details seen by this writer, Sisey posted the highest score of 92.64 percent, narrowly edging out Mr. Nashon Odhiambo, who scored 90 percent.
The National Transport and Safety Authority is the state agency mandated to regulate and promote road transport safety in Kenya. It was established under the NTSA Act No 3 of 2012.
About Jacob Sisey
Sisey is a seasoned public servant currently serving as the Director, Corporate Support Services at the Authority, where he oversees Finance, Human Resource Services, and Administration. He was appointed in September 2023 and has over 20 years of experience in public service.
Previously, he served as Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Nandi County Public Service Board. He has also held several senior positions within the Nandi County Government, including Director of Administration, County Chief Officer for Trade, Investment and Industrial Development, and County Chief Officer for Roads and Transport.
Over the years, he has chaired and served in key county boards and committees, gaining extensive experience in procurement, strategic planning, finance, and human resource management.
Sisey holds a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Management, an MBA in Human Capital Management, and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Kenyatta University. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Management at Moi University.
Currently, the NTSA is headed by Engineer Angela Wanjira who is serving in an acting capacity.
