Allan Kosgey makes a comeback after a fiery political contest

Politician Allan Kosgey who was vying for Nandi's gubernatorial seat has made a comeback into the limelight after he had taken a backseat probably to take stock of the 2022 polls, and decide his next steps.

Allan Kosgey is a son to the former industrialization Minister Dr. Henry Kosgey, he is also a successful lawyer with his practice in Nairobi. 

He tossed himself into the political arena back in 2017 when he vied for the Kesses parliamentary seat against Dr. Mishra. He then shifted his political focus to Nandi ahead of the 2022 polls. He put up a spirited campaign against the incumbent Stephen Sang.

Kosgey, made headways in his campaign through his philanthropic ways. He is a giver and his hand was always felt within the borders of the county. His donations to churches, to individuals seeking medical services overseas and communities within the region endeared him to the voters.

Post polls

Immediately after the loss at the ballot in the battle for the UDA seat, Allan took a sabbatical. He later appeared at the official residence of the then Dp, now president William Ruto in preparation for his last rally on 6th August.

Allan, a Ruto ally is now back in the limelight. He has been spotted in various functions attended by the president which has now raised eyebrows on whether he is about to get a political appointment in the William Ruto administration.

Last week, he joined leaders at the Bomet green stadium for an interdenominational prayer which was also attended by the head of state.

Pundits have intimated that the lawyer might be getting ready for a state appointment in the near future. If that is the case, then it would set stage for his possible replacement of Stephen Sang whose term will end in 2027. 

We can only wait and see his next political moves.
