When the former Gatanga Mp declared interest in deputising Raila Odinga in his bid for the top seat, eyebrows were raised. Touted as one of President Kenyatta's insiders, Kenyans expected that he would be chosen to deputise Raila Odinga in the Azimio-One Kenya Alliance.
With an impressive track record during his stunt as Mp, Peter Kenneth's star has kept on steadily rising to unprecedented heights.

His first attempt at the presidency was back in 2013 when he vied against Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga who were front runners. Kenyatta emerged victorious in a highly contested poll. Kenneth then took a back seat and focused on his private engagements.
First foward to 2022 and he has emerged as one of the top campaigners and financiers of the presidential polls which are already causing political ripples across the country.
The naming of Martha Karua as the deputy presidential candidate in the Azimio la Umoja Coalition has not deterred Kenneth from playing his role in the camp.
Prior to the naming, Kenneth was amongst the top contenders from Mt. Kenya region who had been proposed as possible running mate for ODM leader Raila Odinga.
The political fallout that had been anticipated after the naming of Odinga's running mate was quickly thwarted by Mr. Kenneth when he stated that he would work with Odinga no matter his choice for a running mate.
Recently, he has been at the forefront gunning up support for the Odinga Karua ticket. He has been criss-crossing the country in search of the elusive vote ahead of the August 9th poll.
It is not clear what role has been set aside for Kenneth in the Odinga administration (if he wins). He is however expected to play a critical role in the ongoing campaigns which has seen political adversaries Raila Odinga face off with William Ruto.
