| Atwoli and a host of women leaders |
Atwoli is quite a busy man. Today, he received a delegation of women leaders led by Governor Ann Waiguru at his Kajiado home.
It is still unclear why various leaders have been flocking the trade unionist home. In the recent past, leaders including Raila Odinga, Gideon Moi, Peter Kenneth and a host of others have met at Atwoli's Kajiado home.
Atwoli, a self declared life member of the independent party KANU never minces his words. He has in the past been on record claiming that Ruto would never be president. He even went further to reveal that the DP will not be in the ballot in 2022.
ANN WAIGURU
Kirinyaga Governor Ann Mumbi waiguru was also in the delegation that visited the trade unionist home. According to the governor who recently survived an ouster bid against her, the meeting was to discuss a raft of issues including gender inclusivity and the building bridges initiative (BBI)
"Spent the afternoon with Katibu Atwoli and fellow women leaders where we discussed women inclusion and representation in the BBI including matters in agriculture, water , health.Thank you katibu for always passionately supporting women and fighting for their inclusion." Waiguru posted on her facebook account.
The BBI committee was to release its report before the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. The lockdown made it impossible for the committee to accomplish its mission.
The Hajji led committee is expected to release its report to the two leaders (Uhuru, Raila)
OPPOSITION
The BBI document is already facing opposition from a section of leaders in the country. Recently, Catholic Bishops stated that they would not be supportive of the document if it is position oriented at the expense of the people.
Elgeiyo Marakwet Senator, Kipchumba Murkomen also vowed to lead the opposition of the document if it wasn't going to cater for the meeds of the Kenyan populace.
2022 SUCCESSION
As the 2022 election cycle approaches, the political temperatures have been steadily rising. Leaders affiliated to the deputy president have been on a political onslaught with those aligned to President Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.
In a TV interview recently, Deputy President William Ruto admitted that the relationship with the President was shaky. According to the DP, he claimed that the Jubilee party had been hijacked by conmen and busybodies who were keen on tearing up the party.
The deputy president has adopted a heads on, confrontational political approach to maters. He has boldly claimed that some people in government were involved in grand theft of Covid-19 funds.
As the days go by it is expected that in the coming days, political temperatures will be rising steadily.
