ODM leader Raila odinga is currently being hosted by the deputy party leader, Council of Governor's Chair, Wycliffe Oparanya at his Mabole home, Butere.
Raila Odinga landed at the Kakamega Governor's home this evening and is expected to stay over dinner before they hold a meeting.
"I will be having dinner with him before we have a consultative meeting of National importance." Said Oparanya.
The former Prime Minister who is accompanied by Governor Wangamati, Hon. Wafula Wamunyinyi and Hon. Godfrey Osotsi is expected to address ODM MCAs from the County at Oparanya's home tomorrow.
REVENUE STALEMATE
The meeting comes amidst growing concerns by the council of governors over the continued stalemate at the Senate over the controversial division of revenue formula.
During the week, the Oparanya Chaired council issued a warning that governors would be forced to shut down operations at their counties and send workers home. This he said was occasioned by the delays in disbursement of funds from the exchequer to the counties.
Interestingly, the 12 man committee that had been set to iron out issues on the stalemate failed to come up with a solution. Reports indicatee that the committee came up with two reports.
BBI
ODM leader Raila Odinga gave indications that as soon as the Covid-19 situation was contained, campaigns for the Building Bridges initiative (BBI) would commence.
With growing concerns over the validity of the much hyped constitutional review, it is paramount that the leader reaches out to the Assemblies as they would be critical in ensuring thendocument is adopted.
