Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter Blasts DP Ruto Over Weekly Church Attendances

Nandi Hills Member of Parliament Hon. Alfred Keter has slammed the Deputy President over his weekly church attendances, saying he 'loiters' around churches pretending to be a christian.

"It is not about the leadership, it is any person even you as a Christian.  Let us not be Christians only on Sundays, let us be Christians on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday up to the next weekend even as a leadership, " said Keter as quoted by The Star.

Keter who spoke during the memorial service of Margret Njomo, mother to Kiambu constituency MP Jude Njomo, said that one does not need to prove to be a leader or God fearing by going to all the churches all the time.

"I have seen there are many politicians loitering different churches but you are never in that certain church. Every Sunday you are in a different church either Jeshi la Wokovu, the other week you are with the Muslims, the other you are with the Hindu. We have different doctrines...If you are a Catholic that is your faith," said Keter.

Deputy President William Ruto has been known to have immense love for churches, and has been seen travelling all over the country on Sundays to attend different church services.

He has been quoted on several occasions saying he won't stop supporting religious organisations and youth empowerment activities in the country no matter how hard he gets criticized.

"I sympathize with those who keep on complaining about my giving in churches,  going to the church, as well as helping youth and women improve their lives. Does it mean they don't have anything else to do?" posed DP Ruto while attending a meeting at his Sugoi home in Uasin Gishu last Friday.

ODM leader Raila Odinga has also on many occasions questioned the source of the DP's donations asking where he gets all the millions that he gives out yet they all know his salary.
