Ruto on a charm offensive at the coast


Deputy President William Ruto is on a two day visit at the coast. The Dp landed at the coast today and was received by Nyali Mp, Mohammed Ali, former Senator Hassan Omar among other leaders.


Ruto toured Nyali Constituency where he toured the Nyali CDF offices, a community library, Kongowea Secondary school and later on issued NHIF cards to Nyali constituents.

The deputy President in a recent interview admitted that the Jubilee administration was facing some challenges. According to him, the Jubilee party had been hijacked by people whom he referred to as conmen and brokers.

He stated that the administration had not performed as well as it did during its first term.

Referendum

"It is being driven by leaders, not the people." He said.

According to him, he didn't feel that it was the right time to focus on changing the law since people are still struggling to get over the Covid-19 pandemic effects.


2022 Elections 

The DP is looking to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta once his term elapses in 2022. He is viewed as a top contender.



 He is expected to meet various groups while on his two day coastal visit.
