Nandi County woman representative Cynthia Muge has awarded 205 students with full scholarships. The first term county MP through the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) has made it possible for the more than 200 pupils to get a chance at education.
In an earlier announcement, the MP through her office had asked that vulnerable kids make an application to reach local chief offices not later than 27th January.
Cynthia through a post on her Facebook page notified the public that after a rigorous process, they had been able to select 205 candidates for the award of the full scholarships.
"After a rigorous application and vetting exercise, I'm pleased to annouce a total of 205 students from across Nandi County will now have their four year secondary school fees fully paid courtesy of NGAAF." She posted.
From the data she shared, 35 pupils are total orphans, 47 are partial orphans, 61 are raised by single parents, 13 abled differently and 49 come from vulnerable families.
The MP also stated that plans were underway to meet the whole lot as she plans to start mentoring them.
Cynthia also stated that she was looking foward to partnerships with other organisations to further strengthen her plans of sponsoring even more kids to secondary schools.
Being the first time the program has been launched, her supporters were happy with the development.

Cynthia rose to the Woman MP seat after a stint at the Nandi County Assembly where in 2017 she joined as an independent MCA.
